Hungarian defense minister Csaba Hende must deliver a special report to the Parliament on wednesday, because mysterious technical problems occured with a Hungarian aircraft – now the third time in a row this year.
- In March, technical problems have shown up with an aircraft of the Hungarian Defense Forces on its way back from Sweden. The aircraft executed an emergency landing at the Košice airport for security reasons.
- In May, a Hungarian Gripen aircraft had technical problems and veered off the runway, at the Cáslav military airport in the Czech Republic. The aircraft crashed, the pilot ejected.
- On June 10th, technical problems occurred with a Hungarian Gripen aircraft at Kecskemét (Hungary). The pilot declared emergency after takeoff, because he lost control over the nose wheel so it could not be pulled back. While landing, an error occurred with the catapult. The pilot suffered vertebral fracture.
For now, the row of technical errors is followed by a kind of media activity which we can assume is making up false allegations instead of a purely logical explanation. Mainstream media are using this row of technical errors to blaze a trail for an opinion that declares Hungary is unable to secure its own airspace, because he doesn’t have the capabilities needed. Hungary has hardly more than a dozen aircrafts, so losing these few Gripen planes would not make a difference. For more than a decade, it was obvious that Hungary can not secure its airspace – and despite this, the mainstream media had shown disinterest about Hungary’s lack of capabilities, so we assume that now they have a special cause for bringing out this issue.
According to the Hungarian daily “Magyar Nemzet”, now it is obvious that we have no capabilities to successfully finish the “Baltic mission”, and this became clear because of the recent technical errors.
So we can see that the mainstream media uses the row of technical errors for creating false pretense; to declare that Hungary has no capabilities to defend his own airspace.
Unfortunately, we can find the explanation for the technical errors and for the false allegations of the mainstream media in a regional geopolitical process. On June 3rd, the czech media reported that the United States wants to “secure” Hungary’s airspace in the near future. According to “Idnes” magazine there are ongoing negotiations about the unification of the airspace of the Visegrad Four countries (Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland) because of the “fight against terrorism” and the “Russian threat”.
Unfortunately, the unification of the four countries’ airspaces does not mean that they would secure the common airspace with joint power. According to “Idnes”, an agreement may be reached in the next few months, which implies all the four countries will pass control over their airspace to the United States. The US would deploy American aircrafts “to defend” the Visegrad Four.
The “Idnes” cited his own sources from the Czech Republic’s defense ministry. We assume, that these ongoing negotiations can explain all the “mysterious technical errors” of Hungarian Gripen aircrafts. A very important question has to be raised every time when repeating technical problems occur with made-to-be-safe military vehicles. Who has interest in damaging these aircrafts? Definitely, many communities of interest can have a good business opportunity in damaging Hungarian aircrafts, so they can sell their own vehicles in their place. At the same time, an external power can have interests in damaging Hungarian Gripen, if he wants to force his own military presence on Hungary, and he needs artificially fabricated pretext to deploy his own aircrafts.
Since there are ongoing negotiations with the US regarding this issue, the United States can be interested in sabotaging Hungarian aircrafts. We think, the issue of a possible sabotage should be brought up when the national security committee will discuss these so called “technical errors”.
